On 9 March 2024, 24 Junior Rangers from Mathiba Primary School planted seedlings in the grounds of their school.
The young trees will be protected from animal damage and will need to be watered regularly in future.
In the theoretical environmental sessions, the children learn everything they need to know about native plants and trees from their trainer, as well as the climatic correlations of deforestation.
The children have created posters about this and want to use them to inform people in the neighbourhood.
As with all Junior Ranger activities, teamwork is emphasised and the understanding that you can achieve a lot together is strengthened.
