Dear friends and supporters,
the year 2023 is drawing to a close and we are facing major challenges in Europe and around the world: War in Ukraine, conflict in the Middle East, climate crisis, budget crisis,...
Internationally, environmental organisations are continuing their efforts to halt the consequences of climate change in order to protect people from future conflicts and wars over raw materials and habitats that are still habitable and to guarantee them a future worth living in the long term.
Not least thanks to your support, our projects in Botswana are making an important contribution to this endeavour.
Together with our dedicated trainers, we were able to run the Junior Ranger programme with over 180 children at 14 schools in Maun throughout the year.
The environmental protection project has now become a permanent fixture in Maun's extracurricular education sector and we are delighted that more and more local NGOs are asking to organise partner projects with us.
In our lessons for the Junior Rangers, we aim to cover a wide range of environmental topics, including wildlife conservation, biodiversity conservation, waste prevention and sustainable agriculture.
We believe that young people are the key players in protecting our natural resources and that they have the ability to bring about positive change. People protect what they know and like.
However, most children and young people in Botswana have no access to the unique wilderness and little connection to the natural wealth of their country. We therefore enable them to have special experiences in nature and in the Botswana bush. This makes a lasting impression. Many of our young participants come from very socially disadvantaged families. They often lack food and clothing.
That is why we are committed to improving educational standards in the region, creating career prospects in the field of environmental protection and strengthening local partners. Because we believe that education has a sustainable impact.
Our aim is to reach even more children and young people with our programme in the future.
Our Junior Rangers are very motivated and help shape our project creatively with their ideas. This Christmas, we would like to give them a little treat and thank them for their dedicated work.
We would like to give each Junior Ranger a rucks
ack with a logo so that they can easily stow their notepads, water bottles and binoculars on excursions in the bush and on the way to their educational sessions. A rucksack is an otherwise unaffordable item for our participants.
The children are now well equipped for all weathers with their T-shirts, hoodies and baseball caps. The young environmentalists wear their "uniform" with great pride. The bright colours and attractive logo attract attention.
If you would like to support us with the Christmas present for our Junior Rangers, we would be delighted to receive your donation.
We will be happy to issue you with a gift certificate and a donation receipt for submission to the tax office.
