At the beginning of October, Theda Gräfin Knyphausen gave a workshop on “Ecological Awareness”. Teachers from the schools participating in the Junior Ranger program, who supervise the environmental clubs, and our trainers took part. A total of 18 participants worked in groups to develop their understanding of ecological awareness and solutions for their own actions.
Working with the teachers at the Junior Ranger schools is very important to us. Our goal is to integrate environmental protection topics into regular lessons and reach even more children.
Our definition of ecological awareness could be, for example: “recognizing the importance of human impact on the environment and other living beings and at the same time the need for people to adapt their behaviour and thinking to ensure that nature and its resources - and thus their own livelihood - are not destroyed.
